In this lesson the students were to search the internet for images of places, upload and then paste into word. Once they were able to do that, that were then asked to type: This is a/an (field, canteen, library, office, etc.) The students were very excited during this lesson.

MS. AZIAN, SK PASIR USING A TRICK FROM THE TPDs WITH HER STUDENTS
July 7, 2014
Ms. Azian used a technique in teaching from the TPD on phonics. In this case, the topic was In The School. Eight students were lined up, two rows of 4 facing each other so that each had a partner. A ball was handed to four students of the students. The students then had to toss the ball to their partner saying such things as "I read books here...", the other student responded with 'Library', etc., etc.

July 7, 2014
Mr. Shukor practices spelling numbers with his students when he can't get the music to start properly, he begins singing "Twinkle, twinkle little star..." The students enjoyed the activity. It shows how a teacher needs to adapt during a lesson and sometimes improvise.

Congrats to Ms. Hidaya and Ms. Harrison of SK Merchong Jaya!!
July 2, 2104
Applause to Ms. Hidaya and Ms. Harrison (who I know was involved in the transformation of the classrooms at SK Merchong Jaya).
During her break, Ms. Hidaya, with the encouragement and support of Ms. Harrison, came to school and spent hours decorating her classroom. It is bright, cheerful and fun. Since then the PPD has implemented a competition among certain schools to improve their classroom atmosphere. As a result I saw several classrooms at SK Mechong Jaya where teachers had gone the extra effort all the way to grade 6. I've attached a photo of the grade 5 classroom where the English teacher was in session. This is very exciting to see this amazing transformation from bare to vibrant! Now, let's get some paint and paint those white walls! GO!, Teachers, GO!
