A ball was handed to four students of the students. The students then had to toss the ball to their partner saying such things as "I read books here...", the other student responded with 'Library', etc., etc.

Congrats to Ms. Hidaya and Ms. Harrison of SK Merchong Jaya!!
July 2, 2104
Applause to Ms. Hidaya and Ms. Harrison (who I know was involved in the transformation of the classrooms at SK Merchong Jaya).
During her break, Ms. Hidaya, with the encouragement and support of Ms. Harrison, came to school and spent hours decorating her classroom. It is bright, cheerful and fun. Since then the PPD has implemented a competition among certain schools to improve their classroom atmosphere. As a result I saw several classrooms at SK Mechong Jaya where teachers had gone the extra effort all the way to grade 6. I've attached a photo of the grade 5 classroom where the English teacher was in session. This is very exciting to see this amazing transformation from bare to vibrant! Now, let's get some paint and paint those white walls! GO!, Teachers, GO!

Hidden Artwork in the Schools
These
schools in Paloh Hinai have hidden gems on their walls – created by past
teachers, they stand in full glory waiting for admirers to stop in their tracks
and wonder! With a few tasty words in English, pupils will be able to enjoy art and practice their English at the same time. Anuar
Mustafa, English teacher at SK Mambang, is an artist who has been designing a
stairwell on his school campus with mural replicas of past masters. These will
look really good as part of an English interactive environment.

Musical Words Activity
May 9, 2014
SK Pasir with Ms. Saffiyah and her grade 2 class.
Ms. Saffiyah class reviewing the phonics sounds /ee/, /ir/, /oy/, and /ai/. She had four students hold up signs and called out the sound. Students then ran to the correct sound. Then she organized the students into a large circle and asked four new students to hold the signs for the phonics sounds. Those children stood at the back of the hall facing the circle. Ms. Saffiyah then handed a large folder to the students. As she played the music the students handed the folder to the next student until the music stopped. When the music stopped, the student holding the folder then had to take out a word, read and line up behind the correct phonics sound. It was a lot of fun for the children. This was a very well organized and thought out activity for reviewing phonics.
